Matila — Child Safety Standards (CSAE/CSAM)
Last updated: 2026-10-18
Matila is a dating and social-connection app for verified college students. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out our standards and the steps we take to prevent, detect, and respond to CSAE, in line with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.
Our commitment
- We prohibit CSAE and CSAM of any kind on Matila.
- We prohibit grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and any sexualization of minors.
- We act on violations and report CSAM to the appropriate authorities.
Who can use Matila
- Matila is only for adults aged 18 and over who are verified college students.
- Every account must pass identity verification (college email, student ID, and a live gesture selfie) reviewed by our team before matching is enabled.
- Accounts found to belong to minors are removed.
How we prevent and detect abuse
- Identity verification before any matching or chat access.
- Anonymous chat with built-in safeguards that block sharing of contact details and off-platform redirection early in a conversation.
- Human review of verification submissions and reported content.
- Account bans and blocks for violations.
Reporting (in-app)
- Any user can report a chat or another user from within the app, at no cost, at any time. Reports involving child-safety concerns are prioritized.
How we respond
- We review reports promptly, remove violating content, and suspend or permanently ban offending accounts.
- We preserve relevant evidence as required by law.
- We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant national authority (in India, the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal / law enforcement), as applicable law requires.
Legal compliance
- Matila complies with applicable child-safety laws in the regions where it operates and cooperates with law enforcement.
